At this juncture, the blog post penned by you dated 03.01.2024, despite your time-crunching schedules and hectie commitments from various ends, came in as a pleasant surprise, to heal the wounds in the minds and hearts of the people of Tamil Nadu caused due to the demise of our beloved ‘Captain. Also, your tribute to our beloved ‘Captain’ while addressing the students at the Bharathidasan University in Trichy, mentioning that he was truly a ‘Captain’ not just in the field of cinema, but in politics as well, truly worked for the people of Tamil Nadu in treating the woes caused by the untimely demise of our beloved ‘Captain”.Your reminiscences of the fiery joint-rally by you and our beloved ‘Captain’ at Salem during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and the joyful interactions along with the leaders of the Nationalist Democratic Alliances at the Central Hall of the Parliament, post the resounding victory of 2014 Lok Sabha elections, getting over 18.5% votes the highest that any national alliance without either of the main regional players got after 1989 elections, has kindled several memories of the strong friendship between you and our beloved “Captain in the minds of our members, which resulted in historical success in the sphere of electoral politics in Tamil Nadu. Your references to the on-screen presence of our beloved “Captain’, his portrayal of characters that fought against injustice, corruption, violence, extremism, terrorism and those films being mirrors held up to society, reflecting its virtues and vices, displays your deep admiration towards our beloved “Captain’ even during his days before the silver-screen.
